The Writing Squad is a programme for emerging young writers in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Fifteen writers work with each other and with professional tutors for two years.

There is continued support after that, helping writers make their way in the profession. We are also a sounding board and support network for a growing community of young writers and producers in the region.

The Writing Squad is an independent organisation hosted by Sheffield Hallam University.

We are funded by Arts Council England.
